Beyond Cinderella and The Brady Bunch: Lessons that Therapists have Learned Along the Way About Stepfamilies Sunday, October 23 1 pm (doors open at 12:30 pm) Location: TBA Live and livestream Presented by therapists Carolyn Klassen and Ellie Jack Stepfamilies have often been idolized or demonized in traditional and popular culture—either evil or cute. It’s not that simple. Families that come together with a mix of children and parents that come from and formed their own family first are complex and challenging—and potentially beautiful. Two therapists who have personal and professional experience working with “two-families-who-are-also-one-family” will share strategies and principles to better understand the challenge of bringing two families together. From changing the language that is used, to understanding roles and priorities of each parent, there is a way through this complex process.
